Tigers shut out the Storm

The Morris Benson Area Storm traveled to Marshall to take on the Tigers in girls hockey on Thursday, Jan. 2. Marshall was no match for the Storm as the Tigers easily swept by in a 4-0 shutout.

Goalie Holli Christians managed to stop 20 saves in the match up, where the Storm offense only got off 18 shots.

Marshall scored two goals in the first, both in under 13 minutes of play at even strength.

At the start of the second, the Storm tried to pick up their pace on offense, but the Tiger defense wouldn’t let them get remotely close to the net to get off a well-aimed shot. Captain Megan Vogl got her second goal of the night, putting the Tigers up 3-0 at the end of the second.

Marshall added a fourth goal with under a minute left the third period, and that settled the 4-0 shutout in favor of the Tigers from Marshall.
