Storm girls winless after five

The Morris Benson Area Storm is still looking for that first win after a loss in Park Rapids to the Panthers on Thursday, Dec. 5.

Though the Storm held Park Rapids to only one score in the first period, the Panthers went on a spree, scoring six in the second and added their final goal in the third to secure the 8-0 victory over the now 0-5 Storm.

The Storm held Park Rapids close, only allowing one goal in the first period. Jessie O’Hern scored to put Park Rapids on the board in the first, assisted by Abby Fischer and Christina Smith.

Park Rapids broke open the game in the second period with six goals from five different players, putting the game out of reach for the Storm.

In the third, Taylor Sagen got a pass from Lexi Hinkley-Smith to add another score to seal the deal for Park Rapids with an 8-0 victory.

Freshman goaltender Holli Christians had 50 saves for the Storm.

The Storm host Windom at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 7, and then host Long Prairie-Grey Eagle/Wadena-Deer Creek in Morris at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 12.
