Even though the Storm had nearly 20 minutes in the penalty box, the Dragons were zero for five in the power play during the contest on Saturday, Nov. 30. The Dragons proved they could win at even strength with the scoreboard showing 11-1 at the end of the game–a Dragon victory.

The lone Storm goal came in the third period from Taner Gimberlin unassisted at 0:30.

The Storm outshot the Dragons in the third period, but the Dragons still had a 42-20 shot advantage in the games entirety.

Both Storm goalies got in on the action in the 11-1 loss to L/D-C. Kyle Kennedy had 24 saves and Tony Bruns had seven.

The Storm traveled to Little Falls for a matchup against the Flyers on Tuesday, Dec. 3. The game was close up until the third period when the Flyers put two pucks past the Storm, getting the 4-2 victory.

In the first, there was no scoring or penalties until over halfway through the period.

Landon Bjorge put the Flyers on the board first with a score at 11:04 assisted by Braden Backowski and Riley Scanlon. The Storm answered at 15:39 when Corey Storck found Taylor Staples and put the Storm on the board 1-1 at the end of the first.

Nate Vipond found the net in the second period, but was quickly answered by Flyer Jack Schulte to tie the contest at 2. The score stayed tied 2-2 going into the third period.

A quick goal at the start of the third period by Hunter Swanson put the Flyers up 3-2. The Flyers held onto that one point lead for much of the period until 13:01 when Mark Anez flipped a shorthanded goal into the net, sealing the victory for the Flyers over the Storm 4-2.

The Storm will open up their home season against Windom (in Benson) at 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7. Then the Storm goes on the road again next week for contests against Red Lake Falls on Friday, Dec. 13 and Luverne on Saturday, Dec. 14.
