Baseball season gets underway for Tigers
The baseball season got underway Tuesday for the Tigers as Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta defeated Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City 13-1.
The Tigers sent 14 batters to the plate in the fourth inning and scored eight runs (three earned) to take control of the game.
Alex Erickson and Ryan Beyer had two hits each to ignite the Tigers' offense. Other hits were recorded by Brady Valnes, Eric Riley, Taylor Hufford, Cole Riley, and Tyler Hansen with one apiece.
Matt Lembcke struck out five and gave up just one hit in three innings to earn the win.
Tyler Minnick walked in the fourth and later scored in the inning on the Tigers' only error to account for the Falcons' lone run. A-C-GC was charged with seven errors.
