Football: Owls surge past Rothsay for second straight win

The Hancock Owl football team improved to 2-0 with a 41-18 win over Rothsay Friday, Sept. 7, in Rothsay.

Preston Rohloff connected on four touchdown passes, three to Brandon Kellenberger, who had six catches and 76 yards on the night. Bennett Nienhaus was the recipient of Rohloff’s fourth passing touchdown when he hauled in a 23-yard pass to put Hancock up 35-6 before halftime.

Rohloff finished the game with 120 yards through the air.

Tyler Timmerman led the ground attack with 12 carries for 170 yards and a rushing touchdown.

Jed Feuchtenberger scored his first varsity touchdown on a four-yard run in the third quarter to put Hancock up 41-6.

Owl kicker and foreign exchange student Sergi Artes Sebastia was three-for-five in extra points in his varsity debut.

The Owls open the home season against Hillcrest Lutheran at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 14, in Hancock. The Comets are 0-2 with a season opening loss to Rothsay, 38-22, and a 54-15 loss to Brandon-Evansville in week two.
