Cougars second at MidCountry Bank Classic
After a successful fall season, the Minnesota Morris women's golf team hit the course for the first time this spring Monday, April 17 at the MidCountry Bank Classic at Pioneer Creek Golf Club in Maple Plain.
With six full UMAC teams participating, the Cougars placed second with a team score of 379. St. Scholastica won the team crown with a 362. UW-Superior placed third with a 391. The Cougars' 379 team round surpassed their best round of 380 from the fall (third round of UMAC Championship).
Three Cougar golfers placed among the top 10 with Kelsey Wattenhofer having the low UMM round of the day with a 91 to place sixth. Katelyn Foster was right behind in seventh place with a 92. Joy Stephansen had her personal collegiate best round with a 97 to place ninth.
Rounding out the Cougar field were Allison Bot with carded a 99 to finish in a tie for 11th and Meghan Foley who shot a 105 to place in a tie for 18th.
Both the men and women are scheduled to finish their spring campaign Thursday, April 20 at the MLC Invite in North Mankato.
