Katheryn Jarrett and Tori Holt did extremely well in the first outdoor meet of their career, both placed in the top ten in the discus and shot. Throwers Heather Kamps and Amber Hosie took sixth and seventh in the hammer throw.

On the men's side, Chalmer Combellick broke an old school record and improved his 5K by 36 seconds. He finished the race in 15:26.8, which broke Mark Koehn's time of 15:32, set in 1980.
