Cougar men pick up win over Bethany
Austin Keller scored twice for the University of Minnesota, Morris men’s soccer team and it was all the Cougars needed to pick up the 2-0 win over Bethany Lutheran Saturday afternoon.
It was the second straight match with a goal for Keller. He had three goals and an assist this weekend for UMM.
Keller scored in the 29th minute, rolling the ball past the keeper and into the left corner. Seth Krueger had his second assist in as many matches to free Keller on the goal. Keller struck again in the 35th minute sending the ball in to the back of the net near the upper 90. Shingo Yamane had the assist on the Cougars’ second goal.
Morris outshot Bethany Lutheran 6-1 in the first half, but the Vikings had seven shots in the second half without a score.
Jacob Borash did not concede a goal and picked up the clean sheet.
