Deoyunge, Rowley top Tinman competitors
Ryan Deyounge of Worthington and Bette Rowley of Apple Valley were the top competitors in the 29th annual Tinman Triathlon, held Saturday, April 27 at the University of Minnesota, Morris.
The Tinman includes a 1000 meter swim, 18.6 mile bike ride and 6.2 mile run. Deyounge completed the course in 1:46:26. Rowley's time was 2:01:49. Among the non-UMM teams competing, Rust Never Sleeps, a team of Vaughn Dieter, Bill Eckersen and Bonnie Koehntop, turned in the top time of 2:02:44. In the UMM division, the team, Benevolent Retribution, took first with a time 2:29:01. Team members are Kayla Gastecki , Chase Abfalter and Whitney Haugen. A total of 49 individuals and 12 teams participated in the event.
