Tiger girls golf at Willmar

Three Morris Area/ Chokio-Alberta girls golfed at the Section 3AA meet at Eagle Creek Golf Course in Willmar on Thursday.

Cassidy Hennen shot 99, Maddie Hennen carded a 105, and Lily Erdal posted a 112.

"The Morris girls were all hitting the ball well," said coach Austen Miller. "Cassidy was playing as well as she has all year. She didn't miss hardly any fairways and was on the green with at least a par put on most holes.

"Ultimately, the lightning fast greens got the best of the girls."

The Minnewaska Lakers are back in the Class AA state tournament after shooting a 332.

Also advancing out of the 3AA meet to the girls' tournament individually from the West Central Conference are Chloe Altmann of BOLD and Jen Kack of Lac qui Parle Valley.

Junior Alexis Guggisberg led the way for the Lakers. She shot a 77, the only sub-80 round recorded on the girls' side.

Senior Brianna Janu followed with 81 and then her younger sister, Jenna, a freshman, came in at 84.

The Lakers placed third in 2011 after winning five straight state titles.

Lac qui Parle Valley's Kack, a senior, shot 90 to advance.

The tournament is played at the Ridges at Sand Creek Golf Club.
