Tigers blast Falcons in softball

MORRIS -- Tracy Meichsner invoked the 10-run rule with a two-run single in the sixth inning to cap a 4-for-5 performance at the plate and propel Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta past Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City 18-8 in a West Central Conference South game Monday.

The Tigers started out scoring five runs in the first to establish control early and scored in every inning but the third.

Meichsner also singled in a run in the fifth after starting out her day hitting a double and triple. Steph Hennen added three singles and Olivia Reimers another two in the Tigers' 12-hit attack.

Hennen laced two-run singles in the first and fourth innings.

ACGC got 10 hits off winning pitcher McKenzie Van Batavia and was sparked by Natasha Dallmann's two-run homer in the second and RBI double in the third. Paige Wilner supplied the Falcons with a two-run single in the sixth.
