Hancock girls defeat Wheaton/Herman-Norcross
On Friday, Dec. 9, the Hancock girls basketball team defeated the Wheaton/Herman-Norcross Warriors at home by a score of 61-29. "After a sluggish start, we jumped out to a 26-12 lead at halftime" stated Coach Jodi Holleman. "We turned the presses up a notch in the second half which resulted in some easy transition buckets. The girls played outstanding defense the entire night and took excellent care of the basketball."
"We shot very well from the free-throw line 19/23" said Coach Holleman. "It was great to get all of the girls into the game and to see Karol Algarate and Gabbi Nienhaus score their first career varsity points.
Special thanks to By-Lo Gas and Groceries for providing the balls that were thrown out by the varsity starters. Last week against Montevideo, the balls were provided by the Cutting Edge."
