Hancock Volleyball team opens play-offs with win over B-E

The Owls came out very focused and agressive and dominated all three sets to win the match 3-0 with scores of 25-9, 25-12, 25-16. Hancock's passing and defensive play was much more consistent which helped get the offense flowing nicely. Kendra Schmidgall led with 17 kills followed by Courtney Greiner with nine. Shae Brown had 25 set assists and did a nice job running the offense. Ali Reese led the team with 18 digs.

"Everyone did a really nice job staying focused during the match and doing their role on the court." said Coach Kriti Fehr. "This brings us to the semi-finals where we will face conference rivals, the Wheaton Herman Norcross Warriors, for the third time this season. The first two matches both went five sets with the Owls coming out on the winning end so this is expected to be a tough match. The top five teams in our sub-section had five wins or less so this is a tough section this year and the Warriors bring a very talented and balanced team to the court. Both matches this year went to five sets and in the fifth set the Owls were able to stay calm and play a smart match to find a way to win.

"This is a very talented and great group of girls to coach and we are looking to bring the Warriors down one more time this year." added Coach Fehr.

Game time was 6:00 at on Tuesday. The Owls lost to Wheaton Herman Norcross 3-1. Watch for more on this game next week.
