Tigers defeat Montevideo 14-1

Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta's winning streak improved to seven with a 14-1 win at Montevideo in West Central Conference South softball action this week

The Tigers took a 3-0 lead in the top of the second inning. Weatherly led off with a double and scored on a base hit by Haley Henrichs. Beth Holland reached on a fielder's choice and both Henrichs and Holland scored on a double by Sadie Fischer.

Base hits by DeCamp and Holland, along with four walks, added six more runs in the fourth inning.

The Tigers solidified the victory in the fifth inning on walks, a double by Ehleringer, and singles by Schultz and Scheldorf.

Weatherly threw 45 pitches - 41 strikes and four balls. She struck out 10 and gave up one hit.

Scheldorf led the Tigers going 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs. Schultz was 2-for-3 with a double, Fischer was 1-for-2 with a double and two RBIs, Weatherly was 1-for-3 with a double and three RBIs.

Others with hits were Holzheimer, Ehleringer with a double, Henrichs, and Holland.
