Fundraising for Perham BB player

Perham senior Zach Gabbard collapsed during a game in Glyndon last week and is in critical condition at the University of Minnesota Medical Center in the Twin Cities. A defibrillator was used on Gabbard before he was rushed to Sanford Medical Center in Bismarck, N.D.

The Hancock boys' and girls' basketball teams raised money during halftime of the Hancock vs KMS boys basketball game on Friday night for the Gabbard family and will also raise money on Tuesday, Feb. 1 when the Owl girls host the Ortonville Trojans.

Pete Holleman drove to Perham and purchased "One Clap for Zach" t-shirts for all of the Hancock varsity boys and girls to wear in honor of Zach.

There are a couple of other ways to donate to the Gabbard family to help them defray medical costs. Visit and choose from two options. To simply make a cash donation click on the Donate link on the site. The second option is to buy a "One Clap for Zach" t-shirt for $20.

T-shirts will be available for purchase at all boys and girls basketball games. All proceeds raised will go to the Gabbard family.
