Tiger girls nearly upset BOLD Warriors

Brittany Nissen made two free throws with 30 seconds remaining to break a tie and give BOLD a 52-50 win over Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta Saturday in a West Central Conference South girls' basketball game.

BOLD remained one game behind conference-leading Benson with a record of 8-2.

The Warriors led by 10 points at one point in the first half before the Tigers tied the game on two occasions in the second half. BOLD missed an opportunity to add insurance after Nissen's late free throws, but the two-point cushion was enough as the Tigers had two shots misfire near and at the buzzer.

Erin Schieler scored a game-high 20 points and collected 12 rebounds for the Tigers.

Brittany Dahlk and Molly Herdina had nine points apiece to pace a balanced attack for the Warriors, who shot oly 35 percent from the field. Dahlk also grabbed 18 rebounds.
