Gators ready to make a splash in 2010

With a roster of over 40 athletes, the Morris Area/ Minnewaska Area girls' swimming and diving team is ready for the 2010 season.

This will be the 15th season for coach Linda Hoffmann. Her assistants this year are Morris assistant Megan Lange, Minnewaska assistant Kris Entzi, and diving coach Travis Lembcke.

Juniors include Paige Entzi, Alexis Banister, Hannah Berg, Chelsea Fangmeier, Amy Goette, and McKayla Smith.

Bridget Opdahl and Natalie Holte will lead the sophomores.

The diving team includes Julie Helander, Kayln Nepper, and Rachel Karnik.

The Gators belong to the West Central Conference, which includes defending champs Melrose, as well as Foley, St. Cloud Cathedral, Sauk Centre, Albany, Montevideo, and Milaca.

The Gators' first meet at the RFC in Morris will be against Sauk Centre on Tuesday, Sept. 21.
