Jr. High Owls defeats Ashby

Top of the 1st inning Hancock scored three runs with Philip Schaefer, Taylor Holleman and Brendan Jensen scoring. Bottom of the 1st Ashby scores one run giving the Owls a 3 -1 lead going into the 2nd. Top of the 2nd Hancock scored three more runs with Patrick Koehl, Philip Schaefer and Taylor Holleman scoring. Ashby went scoreless in the 2nd giving the Owls a 6-1 lead. Top of the third the Owls score nine big runs with Patrick Koehl, Taylor Holleman, Brendan Jensen, Jerid Berning, Ross Ascheman, Evan Nelson and Justin Miller all scoring once and Jerrid Jepma scoring twice. Bottom of the third Ashby was scoreless giving the Owls a 15-1 lead going into the 4th.

Top of the 4th Hancock scored one run with Ross Ascheman scoring. Ashby scored one run in the bottom of the 4th giving the Owls the lead 16-2. Hancock scored three more runs in the top of the 5th with Brandon Shaw, Jerid Berning and Ross Ascheman scoring. Bottom of the 5th Ashby scored three runs giving the Owls at 19-5 lead. The Owls went scoreless in the top of the 6th and Ashby scored six runs in the bottom of the 6th giving the Owls the lead 19-11 with this being the final score after the 7th inning was scoreless.

This win tied the school single season win mark with 15 wins. Offensively they had a great game with 22 hits. Taylor Holleman led with four hits and three RBIs, Patrick Koehl, Brendan Jensen, Ross Ascheman and Justin Miller all contributed with three hits. Ross Ascheman also had three RBIs and Justin Miller had four. Jerrid Jepma picked up the win pitching two innings.
