Hancock defeats Cedar Mtn Comfrey

In the third round, we were matched up against last year's Class A Runner-Up, Cedar Mountain Comfrey, and defeated them by a score of 40-34. Actually, we matched up very well with this team. We trailed 7-12 at the end of the first quarter, and went on to outscore CMC 19-5 in the second quarter to take a 26-17 halftime edge. The Owls led 34-23 at the end of the third quarter and played a bit tentative in the fourth quarter, but held on for the win.

Comments: Once again Bree hit some huge free-throws down the stretch to help clinch the win. Lauren Nelson played a great all-around game scoring 8 points, pulling down 5 rebounds, and picking off two steals. We were up by ten points on numerous occasions in this game, but CMC kept hanging around and closing the gap. The girls played some disciplined basketball in the final minute.
