Huge motorcycle ride coming to Wadena; bike on display

This Harley Davidson will be given away in 2009.

An enormous motorcycle ride to benefit the Ronald McDonald House will make a stop in Wadena this summer, and the Harley Davidson the group has as a prize is on display now.

The Ronald McDonald Ride, which has grown from raising $3,300 and drawing 150 motorcycles in its inaugural year of 2002 to topping $100,000 and 1,000 bikes in 2008, will route itself through Wadena and make an hour-long stop at the Wadena Elks Club.

The ride will be June 13, and will start and end in New York Mills and also stop in Wolf Lake, according to organizer Greg Karvonen.

A 2009 Harley-Davidson Road King Classic which is a prize this year is on display now until April 20 at the Wadena Elks Club.

This is the world's largest ride for a Ronald McDonald House. For more information, go to
