Eagles' take Dawson in ninth

The Morris Eagles scored a ninth inning run to go ahead 2-1 against the Dawson Drakes in Dawson on Wednesday, July 2. The Eagles held on in the bottom half of the inning to take the win, improving to 9-2 on the season.

Tanner Picht and Kirby Marquart both doubled in the game, and Bryce Jergenson and Eric Asche were credited with the RBI. Matt Carrington and Jacob Torgerson both went 1-for-3 in the victory.

Torgerson was on the mound for over seven innings, scattering just four hits and one earned run while striking out eight, but it was Sam Mattson that took the official win on the mound, finishing the game with two strikeouts in just over one inning pitched.

The Eagles finish up the regular season hosting the Dumont Saints on Sunday, July 13 at 2 p.m.
