Gators swim at Section 6A True Team meet

The Morris Area/Minnewaska/C-A/Benson girls’ swimming and diving team placed sixth at the Section 6A True Team meet Saturday in Alexandria.

“I thought we swam well considering it was our third meet in a week,” said coach Linda Hoffmann. “It was our highest finish and most points scored.”

Every swimmer scores points at the true team section meet. Each event had about 35 to 36 swimmers.

Seventh grader Lacey Entzi placed first in the 500 freestyle with a 5:35.39, edging out junior Kendra Raths of Sartell and Madelyn Winger of Alexandria.

The 200 medley relay teams placed 18th, 21st, 22nd, and 30th.

In the 200 freestyle  Entzi placed seventh, Halleigh Thompson finished  27th, Ashley Anderson took 33rd, and   Rachel Erickson was 34th.

In the 200 IM Bridgitte Weaver placed 12th, Ari Maras was 20th, Mason Schlief took 25th, and Agnes Dieter was 28th.

In the 50 freestyle, Kate Folkman finished ninth,    Meghan Thoen placed 23rd, Julia Hoffmann took 26th,  and Mariah  Anderson was 32nd.

In diving Haley Gallagher placed 20th and Ashlee Boysen placed 23rd.

In the 100 butterfly  Emily Edmunds placed 24th, A. Anderson was 27th,  Erin Edmunds took 29th, and  Amanda Thompson finished 28th.

In the 100 freestyle Folkman finished 18th,  Erickson was 24th, Natasha Nemmers placed 28th, and Hoffmann was  35th.

In the 500 freestyle   Weaver was 17th, H. Thompson took 26th, and Kallan Mercier placed 34th.

The 200 Freestyle Relays teams finished 15th, 25th, 29th, and 32nd.

In the 100 backstroke Thoen was18th, Dieter placed 21st, Maras was 22nd, and M. Anderson placed 28th.

In the 100 breaststroke Schlief was 19th, Heald was 24th, A. Thompson placed 25th, and Greta Serrin finished 28th.

The 400 freestyle relay teams placed seventh, 20th, 26th, and 30th.
