Letter to the editor: My stand against the treatment of children, parents at the border
To the editor:
Dear parents and children,
I am so sorry for what is happening to you and for how you are being treated.
Please know that many of us in America do not agree with what is happening to you and your loved ones. We do not want children to be separated from their parents. We do not want you to be put in detention facilities. We do not want you to be inhumanely treated.
We want you to be welcomed. We want you to be treated the way we would want to be treated--with kindness.
I want you to know that you are precious in God's sight, and in mine, and in the eyes of many others in America.
I feel helpless watching on TV what is happening to you. That is why I am writing this letter --to take a public stand against what our country is doing at the border, and to let you know that there are people praying for you and people voting to remove from political office those who are responsible for this tragedy and travesty. I am one of those people.
