The Stevens Country Fair was the place to be last week. It began on Tuesday, Aug. 9 and went through Sunday, Aug. 14 at the Stevens County Fairgrounds in Morris.

With the one day extension to the fair, a handful of new events were added to the schedule in 2016. Some of those events included All American Wrestling in the grandstands on Thursday, Aug. 11; Thank-a-Farmer, which happened on the free stage several times throughout the week and weekend; the Marvelous Mutts, which performed on the north end of the fairgrounds; and Mitch Goudy and Diana Upton-Hill, who performed on Thursday and Friday night.

There were several traditional sitings at the fair as well, like the Family Fun Show Carnival, which saw a successful and crowded wristband night on Thursday, Aug. 11. The four Kiwanis talent show finalists also performed and thereby qualified for the Minnesota State Fair, which begins next Friday, Aug. 26.
