Thanks to Karen Long for this: Bev (Bouressa) Marty from Clarksville, Tenn., has been visiting in the area for two weeks. Her parents were Gene and Ellen (Harstad) Bouressa.  Harold and Bev Marty left Elbow Lake for Tennessee 26 years ago. Meeting with her for brunch one day last week were Elvira Bennett of Kensington, Darrell Harstad of Perham, Deanna Heuer of Donnelly, Gordon Harstad, Gloria Heuer, Donna Gades, Ron and  Jan Bouressa all of Morris, Karen Long and Vedar Harstad of Herman.  Lots of reminiscing was done.  Bev Marty visited with her aunt Opal Harstad. Charles and Karen Long and granddaughter Emma met Stan and Konnie Harstad and grandchildren Nicolle and Parker along with great aunt Selma Bruse in Elbow Lake one evening for supper.  Bev Marty spent some time in Elbow Lake, visiting several old friends.  Bev also spent time in Coon Rapids, with her aunt Doris (Bouressa) Leaf.  Bev and Karen stopped by to visit Laverne Kopitzke one afternoon. Bev fondly remembers wonderful cream and bread days with cream from Chester and Gloria Larson. They also visited local cemeteries.

On July 11, I stopped at the West Wind Village to visit Mary Dripps and others. Mary would very much like to hear from some of the Donnelly people she grew up with, and told me to say “hi” to everybody in Donnelly.

A good crowd was on hand for the Kiwanis Talent Show on July 12 at East Side Park in Morris.  Earlier in the day I attended Summer Station Day at the West Central Research and Outreach Center.  MaKenzie Smith is a summer interin there.

On July 15, I took in part of the Babe Ruth championship game at Chizek Field won by the black team. Bryce Jergenson is a member of that team.
