Hancock EDA puts name on senior living facility plans

Deb Newhouse came to the Hancock city council on Monday to update members on the Economic Development Authority's plans for a senior living facility.

At the last EDA meeting, the group agreed to put its name on the senior living facility to give the project non-profit status as a benefit to those looking to donate to the project.

Newhouse said she was asking the council for a sign of approval before the plans for the facility and the EDA's involvement were publicized further.

The council voted 4 to 1 in favor of offering the support of the city council as the EDA moves forward with the project. Council members Bruce Malo, Bruce Schmidgall, Brett Nelson and Dennis Schroeder voted in favor, while council member Jeff Kisgen was opposed.
