Hancock speech team places at home meet
Hancock High School was the host of its annual speech meet on Tuesday, March 6..
All of the Hancock speech team members placed at the event.
Seventh-grader Cody Moon took sixth place in the humorous category and sophomore Parker Schmidgall took fourth place in the same humorous category. This was the first year Moon has been in speech. Parker Schmidgall has been in speech for four years.
First time speech participant, eighth-grader Itzel Sanchez, took third in the creative expression category.
Veteran Nadine Miller, a Hancock junior, took second in the original oratory category. This is Miller's third year in speech and the first time in this category.
Overall, the Hancock Speech team did well and really impressed her, said speech coach, Cari Gebro.
