Lac qui Parle Valley High School in lockdown after threat
MADISON -- The Lac qui Parle Valley High School was in a partial lockdown today after a threatening e-mail was received, according to a news release from Principal Jon Fulton.
According to the release, the e-mail included a threat of a student doing harm to students or staff. The threat was considered similar to a threat made on the Minneapolis School district last week.
The school has contacted internet service providers who have confirmed that the e-mail appears to have originated out of the United States.
Law enforcement is investigating the source of the e-mail and will be at the school for the rest of the day. All activities will continue as scheduled for the rest of the day.
"We feel very comfortable for the safety of our students and staff," Fulton wrote. "School will continue the rest of the week."
