Homecoming at HHS next week

Hancock Public School will be observing Homecoming Week next week at the school. The week will kick off on Monday with each day of the week designated with a special theme. The Coronation of the Homecoming Royalty will take place on Monday night with the King and Queen reigning throughout the week-long activities. Each person attending coronation is asked to bring a non-perishable food item for the Food Shelf.

Monday has been designated as PJ/Autograph Day. Prior to coronation the Hancock Commercial Club will host a Soup and Pie Supper at the Community Center. Serving will take place from 5-7 p.m.

The Homecoming coronation ceremony will begin at 7:00 p.m. in the gym. Wade Feuchtenberger will be crowning the queen and Aria Walstad will crown the king. MCs will be Maggie Hacker and Annie Huebner.

Tuesday has been designated as Hunting or Camo Day. That night the volleyball team will travel to Kerkhoven to take on the KMS Saints.

Wednesday is Class color day at the school. Each class has been given a specific color to wear that day. These include black for seniors, pink for juniors, green for sophomores, blue for freshmen, orange for 8th grade and red for 7th grade.

On Wednesday night the traditional Powder Puff game will be held with the junior and senior girls taking on the freshmen and sophomores. The boys will serve as coaches, referees and cheerleaders. This will begin at 7 p.m. at the football field.

Thursday is Opposite Gender Day. That night the Volleyball gals will take on CAHN at home.

Friday will be Spirit Day with a pep fest starting at 2:45 that afternoon. During the afternoon prior to the pep fest students will be participating in an afternoon of games and activities.

The Owls will take on Brandon-Evansville in the homecoming game at the football field starting at 7:00 p.m. A tailgate party will proceed the game sponsored by the post prom committee.

The Homecoming Dance will be held on Saturday night instead of after the game from 8-11 in the small gym at the school.
