The Organic Gardening Club is holding a barn dance on Saturday, April 30, at 7 p.m. in the Student Center’s Oyate Hall. There will be a live caller to lead contra/square dances. Tickets are $2 at the door; children get in free. Community members are encouraged to attend.
Faculty Recital: Scott Horey
There will be a faculty recital featuring Scott Horey, assistant professor of percussion, on Sunday, May 1, at 3 p.m. in the Humanities Fine Arts Recital Hall. Horey’s percussion concerts mix progressive rock, contemporary classical, drum kit, and marimba. This event is free and open to the public.Jane Addams Project
The Jane Addams Project will meet on Tuesday, May 3, from 7:15 to9 p.m. in Imholte Hall 111. Jane Addams is a cross-cultural discussion group open to all and held on Tuesday nights. The program is free and provides Spanish- and English-speaking community members with opportunities to connect and better understand one another’s cultures. Translators are available.Concert Choir and University Choir Combined Concert
There will be a combined choir concert on Friday, May 6, at 7:30 p.m. in the Humanities Fine Arts Recital Hall. This concert is held in celebration of the 400th anniversary of the death of William Shakespeare. The Morris choirs, under the direction of Bradley Miller, assistant professor of music, and Melissa Hanson, vocal teaching specialist, will present a program featuring musical settings of Shakespeare texts. Included on the program is Ralph Vaughan Williams’ beloved Serenade to Music, as well as the work of student conductors.CAC Concerts Presents: Fight Dragons
CAC Films will host a screening of Fight Dragons on Saturday, May 7, at 8 p.m. in the Student Center’s Oyate Hall (Cougar Room). This screening is free and open to the public.
