Symphonic Winds and Chamber Orchestra Concert

The UMM Symphonic Winds will perform with the Chamber Orchestra on Sunday, April 27, at 3 p.m. in the Morris Area Elementary School Concert Hall. There will be a pre-concert chat at 2:30 p.m. The Symphonic Winds, under the direction of Simon Tillier, and Chamber Orchestra, under the direction of Joel Salvo, perform core repertoire works. This concert will feature faculty member Scotty Horey playing the Percussion Concerto by Pulitzer Prize-winner Joseph Schwantner in addition to J.S. Bach’s Passacaglia and Fugue in C minor. Tickets: adults $5, seniors/children $3, students $1.

Bread n’ Bowls

The 7th annual Bread ’N Bowls event will take place on Monday, April 28, at Morris Area Elementary School beginning at 5:30 p.m. Since 2008, Bread ’N Bowls has established a reputation for its delicious food and beautifully crafted bowls. The meal includes soup, bread, dessert, and a beverage. Soup is served in a handcrafted souvenir bowl. Family-friendly music and children’s activities will also be provided. All are invited to attend this event. Sponsored by the UMM Office of Community Engagement.

Jazz Combos

There will be a jazz combo performance on Monday, April 28, at 5:30 p.m. in the Student Center’s Turtle Mountain Cafe. Both instrumental and vocal jazz combos are encouraged to find their own innovative approach to the music they present.

Fashion Trashin’ Show

Fashion Trashion, a public showcase of outfits made entirely from diverted waste, will take place on Monday, April 28, in the Student Center’s Oyate Hall at 7 p.m. It serves as a celebration of Earth Week and a continuing commitment to sustainability. This is your chance to view the work of UMM's up-and-coming designers as they flex their creative muscles to create masterpieces from the contents of dumpsters.

Cafe Scientifique

Stephen Burks, associate professor of economics and management, will give a presentation titled "Who is Greedy and Who Is Not? Comparing Morris Residents, UMM Students, and Trainee Truckers in the Behavioral Economics Laboratory" on Tuesday, April 29, at 6 p.m. at the Common Cup Coffeehouse.

Annual Senior Studio Art Student Exhibit II

The Annual Senior Studio Art Exhibit II will open on Thursday, May 1, at 7 p.m. in the Humanities Fine Arts Edward J. and Helen Jane Morrison Gallery. The exhibit features work from seven senior studio art students.

UMM Concert Choir

There will be a UMM Concert Choir concert, directed by Christina Armendarez, on Sunday, May 1, at 7:30 p.m. in the Humanities Fine Arts Recital Hall. The UMM Concert Choir concludes the year with a varied program of a cappella works. Tickets are available at the door.

UMM University Choir

The University Choir, under the direction of Melissa Hanson, will perform a variety of accompanied and a cappella choral literature from around the world on Friday, May 2, at 7:30 p.m. in the Humanities Fine Arts Recital Hall. Free admission; no ticket required.

CAC Concerts Presents: Cloud Cult

CAC Concerts is proud to welcome Cloud Cult back to UMM. The show will be held on the campus mall (rain site is the Student Center’s Edson Auditorium) on Saturday, May 3, at 4 p.m.  The concert is free and open to the public.

Meiningens Staged Reading at East Side Park

Meiningens Student Theatre is celebrating the end of the school year with a staged reading of three one act plays by Anton Chekhov: The Proposal, The Bear, and The Anniversary. The reading will be held in East Side Park in Morris, on Sunday, May 4, at 5 p.m. The event is free to attend, and donations are accepted.
