Marjorie L. Ruch, 71, of Frazee, died Sunday, November 25, 2007, surrounded by her family and under care of Hospice of the Red River Valley.
Marjorie Laverne Seffinga was born to Charles and Grace (Crye) Seffinga on Aug. 2, 1936 in Radisson, Wis. She was raised in Lemington, Wis., and attended grade school in Couderay, Wis., later attending high school in Winter, Wis. After completing school, Marjorie married Sherman Ruch and they resided for a short time in Illinois and later Iowa before moving to Anoka, Minn., in the late 1950s. In the late 1960s, they moved to Moorhead, where they started their family. Sherman and Marjorie divorced in 1973.
Marjorie worked for 26 years at The Bowler in Fargo, where she managed the restaurant. She also took in foster children until they were able to find a home. Marjorie later worked for Quality Bakery until retiring in 2002. In her spare time, Marjorie enjoyed reading, gardening and most importantly, spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Marjorie will be remembered and missed by her children, Donald "Chip" Ruch of Blaine, Minn., Kimberly (Chester) Vincent of Frazee, Brenda Olund of Blaine and Bradley (Ruth) Ruch of Fargo; eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren; one brother, Larry (Carol) Seffinga; as well as two sisters, Arlene Haske and Darlene (Robert) Scharlau.
Preceding Marjorie in death were her parents; two brothers, Michael and Robert; and one sister, Lois Ives.
A mass of Christian burial is scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 29, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Detroit Lakes, with the Rev. Jerry Rogers officiating. Interment will be in Holy Rosary Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Holy Rosary Catholic Church one hour prior to the start of services.
