Candidates vie for Miss Morris, Miss Midwest
Candidates for Miss Morris and Miss Midwest will compete in the annual scholarship program at 7 p.m., Saturday, July 14, as part of Prairie Pioneer Days in Morris. The program is at the Morris Area Schools Concert Hall.
Candidates are: Jordann Baier, of Morris and a student at Morris Area High School, Mackenzie Stahman, of Morris and a student at Morris Area High School, Islande Sperr, of Morris and a student at Morris Area High School, Mariah Anderson, of Starbuck and a student at Minnewaska High School, Alicia Daniels, of Glenwood and a student at Minnewaska High School and Sophie Keeler, of Chaska and a student at the University of Alabama.
The contestants will compete in a variety of categories during the July 14 event. Before July 14, they will be making appearances at various locations in Morris. At 7 p.m., Wednesday, July 11, they will be at the golf ball drop at Pomme de Terre Golf Course. At 1:30 p.m. Thursday, July 12, they will pump gas for tips and have root beer float sales and $1 pizza slice sales at the Morris Food Shop and at 1:30 p.m. Friday, July 13 they will be at the brat stand in the Willie's Supervalu parking lot. They will also help serve the community meal prior to the Kiwanis Talent Show Friday from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at East Side Park.
