The Library Board has decided to move forward with a library foundation administered by West Central Initiative (WCI) Foundation's Donor Advised Funds. A meeting with WCI has been scheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 16 at 5:30 p.m. at the Library. Here we will learn what it means to be part of the WCI Foundation and the next steps for us. At this meeting, hopefully, an advisory board will be identified. If you are interested in learning more about this endeavor, please join us.

I've mentioned in previous columns about a new Home Delivery Service for delivery of reading materials to homebound people. Now that the weather may turn icy and unbearably cold, I again offer this service. There is an application form to fill out and a library card is required. Once you qualify for the service, we will deliver to your door a selection of books based on your interests. Please call if you'd like more information about the service, (320) 589-1634.

Volunteers are always welcome at the library. Whether you can help out an hour a week, or an hour a day, we would love to hear from you. Volunteers are needed to shelve books, and make book deliveries if we have a high demand for Home Delivery (see above). Thank you in advance, for your interest.

The library is closed Tuesday, Dec. 25 and Jan. 1.

Our display case for December features a collection of snowmen objects, on loan from the library staff. Enjoy! If you have an interesting collection of objects you would like to display in future months, please call the library to schedule an exhibit.

On behalf of the Friends of the Morris Public Library, I extend a thank you to everyone who responded to their fundraising campaign this year. The Friends are invaluable to us in supporting our programs and events, special purchases for the library, and their donation of time and energy. Did you know there is a year-round sale cart at the library of books for $.50 and $1.00 that benefit the Friends? We invite you to take a look.
