Stevens County man faces seven criminal sexual conduct charges
MORRIS - A Stevens County man is facing seven counts of criminal sexual conduct after he allegedly sexually assaulted a girl repeatedly over a four-year period.
Cruz Mar Del-Angel, 39, faces five counts of criminal sexual conduct in the first degree and two counts of criminal sexual conduct in the second degree for incidents that allegedly took place in Stevens County from approximately 2007 through 2010.
According to the complaint, the girl told law enforcement that Del-Angel touched her in appropriately her on multiple occasions and forced her to have sex with him once. The girl also said Del-Angel had photographed her naked multiple times.
According to the complaint, Del-Angel admitted to law enforcement that he touched the girl on multiple occasions, but denied having sex with her.
At Del-Angel's initial court appearance Tuesday, Judge Charles Glasrud set bail at $250,000 without conditions or $100,000 with conditions.
The first degree charges carry a maximum sentence of 30 years in prison and/or a $40,000 fine, and then second degree charges carry a maximum sentence of 25 years in prison and/or a $35,000 fine.
Del-Angel also pleaded guilty Tuesday to one count of fifth degree domestic assault for a Sept. 23, 2012, incident at his home. Del-Angel will be sentenced on the domestic assault charge at a later date.
