Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service
Martin Luther King Day will be observed with a Day of Service on Monday, Jan. 16. Although registration for service projects closed on Jan. 6, the afternoon events are open to all. Service activities will run from 1 to 4:30 p.m. At 4:30, groups will gather to hear speakers and march together through Morris. A free meal will be served from 5:30-7 p.m. at the Morris Senior Community Center. Morris Community Meal
The January Community Meal will be held in honor of Martin Luther King Day, highlighting foods of oppression, at the Morris Senior Community Center, 603 Oregon Avenue, on Monday, Jan. 16, at 5:30 p.m. Open to all members of the Stevens County community, this month's meal is the final event in UMM's 3rd Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service.
Byers and Richardson Art Exhibit
The work of artists Betsy Ruth Byers and John J. Richardson will be featured in the Humanities Fine Arts (HFA) Gallery from Thursday, Jan. 19, until Thursday, March 8. Byer's work, Peripheral Accumulations, will be displayed on the main floor of the gallery, while paintings by Richardson, Case Study, will be exhibited on the mezzanine level. An opening reception will be held on Thursday, Jan. 19, from 7-9 p.m. HFA Gallery hours are 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday through Thursday; 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Friday; 1 to 4 p.m., Saturday.
