Parent teacher conferences are just around the corner. Parent Teacher Conferences will be held on Nov. 10 in the high school. They will run from 11 to 1 p.m., 2 to 5 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Conferences will be held in the high school gymnasium. The teachers will be located in various spots and the parents can, at their leisure, talk to any teacher they choose.
Once you arrive at the high school, you can stop at the front of the gym and you will be able to pick up your child's report card and a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) brochure about the Northwest Evaluation Association (NWEA) results from the testing this fall. The administration is planning to present a few NWEA informational sessions during conferences as well. These presentations will be advertised (time and location) in the front of the gymnasium and also in the elementary school.
There will also be information about our College in the School courses that students can take for college credit. College in the School courses are taught here at the high school, by our teachers, and the best part of it is that the students enrolled in these courses can earn college credit. College credit, taught by MAHS teachers, and they don't even need to leave the school. If you would like more information about our College in the School offerings, please pick up a brochure or talk to Mr. Coquyt.
Breakfast Kiosk at MAHS
Breakfast is a crucial part of learning and performing well. We have all heard that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, yet many people will skip this meal for various reasons. The MAHS Food Service department has decided to try a Breakfast Kiosk to give those students who may not have time to eat a healthy breakfast. MAHS tried out our Breakfast Kiosk this week. Breakfast starts at 8:05 am and finishes when the bell rings. However, we will wait for any late buses. The breakfast kiosk is located by the high school bus corral doors.
Students will need to take a "full meal" which will consist of the following two options:
Option 1: A PBJ sandwich, milk and/or fruit.
Option 2: The student must choose 3-4 of the following categories:
One - cereal, cereal bar, UBR, or Morning Mix Up
One - cheese stick or sunflower seeds
One - fruit
One - milk.
From all accounts the first week went very well.
