Koehntop joins RUSC Kinship
Erin Koehntop started as Raising Up Stevens County Kinship director in mid-December. Koehntop spent over nine years as a victims advocate with Someplace Safe.
"I was looking for a change," Koehntop said.
"I like the mission and the vision (of RUSC)," Koehntop said. RUSC makes a positive difference in the community, she said. RUSC Kinship is a mentoring program that matches adult mentors with youth mentee in Stevens County.
Koehntop said she wants to the increase the number of mentors and mentee.
"We're in need of mentors," Koehntop said. "There are plenty of opportunities to make a difference in other people's lives."
Koehntop stressed that mentoring is a four-hour-per-month commitment that is doable for many people.
Koehntop grew up in the Morris area and is graduate of the University of Minnesota, Morris.
