Hancock celebrating Snow Week Feb. 14-18

Snow Week activities will begin Monday at Hancock Public School. The week will be filled with special theme days, lots of sporting events, speech meet and end with a semi-formal dance.

Monday, Feb. 14, Valentine's Day, will start the week as red, white and pink day. That evening there will be a boys' and girls' double-header basketball game. The girls will be playing Ortonville with junior varsity starting at 4 p.m. and varsity at 5:30 p.m. in the big gym. The boys will play ECHO with junior varsity starting at 6 p.m. in the little gym and varsity at 7:30 p.m. in the big gym.

Tuesday has been designated as Duct Tape Day which should bring out some interesting attire. It is also Male Heart Day in the heart exchange game students will be playing.

Tuesday night the boys will play Clinton-Graceville-Beardsley at home starting at 6:15 p.m.

Wednesday is Female Heart Day and the theme will be Old Prom attire.

Thursday is Twin Day. There will also be a special event at the school that day. Speech teams from area schools will be coming to Hancock for a Speech Meet. Since this will require the use of most of the classrooms, school will be dismissed early. Busses will leave at 2:50 p.m. with school dismissing at 2:40 p.m.

The girls' basketball team will travel to Underwood that night for a game.

Friday will be Punk Rock Day and end of the quarter activities will be held in the afternoon. That evening the boys will travel to Wheaton for a game and the girls will host Canby. The wrestlers will be leaving for the section tournament held in Slayton on Friday and Saturday.

The week will end with a semi formal dance on Saturday, Feb. 19. This will take place in the small gym from 9-12 p.m.
