One Voice Mixed Chorus

Buckets & Tap Shoes

As part of the Performing Arts Series, Buckets & Tap Shoes will perform in Edson Auditorium at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 13. The group features a collection of musicians, percussionists, and dancers that bring great energy to the stage with five-gallon buckets, metal cans, found objects, and of course, tap shoes. On Sunday, Nov. 14, at 11 a.m. in HFA 125, the HFA theatre and dance rehearsal room, Buckets & Tap Shoes will present a tap master class that is free and open to the public. The class is intended for all levels of tap experience. Bring your tap shoes!

David Relin Talk on Volunteerism and Public Service

David Oliver Relin, journalist and co-author of Three Cups of Tea: One Man's Mission to Promote Peace...One School at a Time with Greg Mortenson, will serve as the Campus Activities Council (CAC) Convocation's fall speaker. His talk, "Volunteerism and Public Service: How Individuals can Change the World," will be delivered on Monday, Nov. 15, at 8 p.m. in the Humanities Fine Arts Raymond J. Lammers Proscenium Theatre. Soup & Substance

Soup & Substance is a monthly event hosted on the UMM campus. The November edition will focus on the issue of large corporations and whether they belong in small towns, like Morris, and how they affect small communities. It will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 16 at 6 p.m. in the Moccasin Flower Room in the Student Center. The event is designed to provide an open forum for members of the Stevens County and UMM communities to discuss issues of local, national, and international importance. Everyone is welcome to join the discussion and enjoy a free meal!

Asking the Big Questions

The monthly Asking the Big Questions campus/community discussion series, sponsored by the Rodney A. Briggs Library, will explore faith and spirituality during the 2010-11 academic year. The next gathering is on Wednesday, Nov. 17 at 7 p.m. in the library's McGinnis Room. The topic is the religion of Islam. Student Mohamed Farah will facilitate the conversation that will explore questions about the Qur'an, literally the recitation, and Muhammad, the prophet and founder of Islam. Jazz Concerts

Jazz Ensembles on Friday, Nov. 19, at 7:30 p.m. in the HFA Recital Hall.

Jazz Combos on Saturday, Nov. 20, at 7:30 p.m. in the HFA Recital Hall with an admission charge. The concerts will feature music by Cannonball Adderley, Charles Mingus, Mike Gill, Adam Helgeson, Craig Sandberg, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Joe Carucci, and more.

Dance Ensemble Performance

The Dance Ensemble will perform on Friday, Nov. 19, at 7 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 20, at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. All performances will take place in the Student Center's Edson Auditorium. Admission is free.

Senior Voice Recital

Donovan Hanson presents a voice recital on Sunday, Nov. 21, at 2:30 p.m. in the HFA Recital Hall. Free admission.
