Area Weather: Frost in forecast for this weekend
It looks like temperatures will be below average for the weekend. Highs Saturday and Sunday will reach only the 50s with overnight lows in the low to mid 30s. Frost is possible by Saturday morning and again Sunday morning. The good news is that we are seeing some drier weather which is certainly helping out area farmers with their fall harvesting.
On this date in 1985 four inches of snow fell in Ely, with just a trace in the Twin Cities. Alexandria received .05" of rain that day with a low of 35 degrees.
The tiny droplets of water that make up fog are so small that it would take seven thousand million of them to make a single tablespoonful of water.
