Benefit for Jason Davidson this Sunday in Hancock

Jason and his wife Alicia with sons Cayden and Ty before the accident.

On Monday, June 7, Jason Davidson was involved in a motorcycle accident on his way home from work. He was traveling eastbound and a vehicle coming westbound was pulling a trailer with a lawn tractor on it. Just as the two vehicles met each other, the lawn tractor bounced into Jason's lane. He hit the lawn tractor head on with no helmet.

Jason suffered multiple fractures and had to be airlifted to Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis where he had multiple surgeries.

On June 24 Jason was transferred to a facility in Osakis for extensive rehab therapy and will need to return to HCMC in the next months for ongoing treatment. He currently is unable to stand and requires total care. Jason has already overcome many obstacles but he has a very long recovery ahead of him.

Jason grew up in Hancock and graduated from Hancock High School. He, along with wife Alicia and sons Cayden and Ty, reside in Glenwood.

A Spaghetti Supper and Silent Auction benefit will be held to help defray medical expense. It will be held this Sunday, July 18 from 5-8 p.m. at the Hancock Community Center. The cost will be a free will donation. Supplemental funds will be provided by Stevens County Thrivent Chapter 31318.

Donations checks can be made out to Thrivent and sent to Marla Miller, P.O. Box 427, Hancock, MN 56244. One hundred percent of funds raised will be given to Jason. The event is hosted by friends of Jason Davidson.
