Summer Fun in the Garden series begins today

Summer Fun in the Garden, a series of Wednesday family garden programs, begins today -- Wednesday, June 16 -- at 6 p.m.

Summer Fun is the West Central Research and Outreach Center's newest family education event at the Horticultural Display Gardens.

Following a supper, at 7 p.m. Stevens County Master Gardener Bernie Angus will be in the garden to present "Birds, Butterflies, and Native Plants." At the same time, Chlene Anderson leads a a children's program in the Children's Garden.

On Wednesday, June 30, Stevens County Master Gardener LaVerne Swanson presents "Hostas and Perennials."

On Wednesday, July 14, Stevens County Master Gardener Pat Mumm will present "Container Gardening."

On Wednesday, Aug. 11, Chippewa County Master Gardener Jerry Tilden will present "Plant Propagation and Storing Annual and Perennial Plants in Pots for Winter."

Each evening will feature a children's program and a grilled supper.
