Tigers travel to Minnewaska for conference tennis
Morris Area traveled to Minnewaska for the West Central Conference South Conference Tournament Saturday, Sept. 27.
"This was not a very successful day for Tiger tennis," said coach Jim Gillis. "We had a few competitive sets, but were unable to sustain it throughout a match."
1st singles: Laura Paulson of Minnewaska defeated Jenny Hennen 6-0, 6-2.
In the Consolation match Karley Weir of Lac qui Parle Valley defeated Hennen 10-4.
2nd singles: Catherine James of Benson defeated Rebekah Larsen 6-0, 6-0. In the Consolation match Colleen Morken of LQPV defeated Larsen 10-1.
3rd Singles: Carlee Willander of Yellow Medicine East defeated Rory Anderson 6-2, 3-0 (injury).
Anderson was disqualified by injury in the Consolation match.
4th singles: Amelia Bergquist of YME defeated Krista Matthews-Saugstad 6-4, 6-2.
In Consolation Ellen Stensrud of Minnewaska defeated Matthews-Saugstad 10-1.
1st Doubles: Faehnrich/Jenks of Minnewaska defeated Sam Buro/Mishayla Schreifels 6-4, 6-0.
In Consolation Berget/Lipinski of Montevideo defeated Buro/Schreifels 10-5.
2nd Doubles: Peters/Hein of Montevideo defeated Tabby Sanderson/Laura Lou Delehanty 6-4, 6-4.
In Consolation Thompson/Brehmer of LQPV defeated Sanderson/Delehanty 10-6.
3rd Doubles: Zaiser/Stensrud of LQPV defeated Pam Sax/Renee Mullins 6-2, 6-2.
In Consolation Breen/Leighton of Benson defeated Sax/Mullins 10-6.
