Human Rights Award nominations sought; application deadline Nov. 3
The Morris Human Rights Commission and the Morris City Council are soliciting nominations for the Morris Human Rights Award.
Given annually, the award recognizes individuals, organizations, or businesses whose activities during the past year help foster a community that embraces diversity, mutual respect, and principles of equal opportunity.
Nancy Huot, owner of La Tienda in Morris, was the award recipient last year. Her nominator, Patty Wente, was honored as the first recipient of the award in 2006.
Nominations may be submitted for an individual, non-profit organization, or business.
Nominations must be submitted on the Human Rights Award Nomination Form by Nov. 3. The form and a more complete description of the selection criteria are available in the City of Morris offices.
