Morris' Main Street without power temporarily Tuesday

Otter Tail Power crews work to restore power after an accident in the alley behind McGinnis Appliance left about 775 customer without electricity on Tuesday morning.

MORRIS, Minn. -- Parts of Morris started the day in the dark on Tuesday, after a truck struck a utility pole, causing a power outage.

Morris Police Chief Ross Tiegs reports that a truck belonging to Engebretson's Sanitary Disposal struck the pole in the alley of the 600 block of Atlantic Avenue at about 8:30 a.m. Tuesday.  The truck had minor damage and the driver was not injured, but the collision caused a power outage to portions of Morris.   The outage affected many businesses along Atlantic Avenue. 

According to Otter Tail Power Company spokesperson Cris Oehler, approximately 775 customers were affected by the outage. 

Most power was restored by 9:30 a.m.
