Welcome to another edition of the Donnelly news.

We got some badly needed rain in the area on Sept. 14 and cooler temperatures remind us that fall is in the air.

In news from St. John’s/Kongsvinger: There will be joint services at St. John’s at 11 a.m. with the S u n d a y s c h o o l k i d s singing.

The Chord Ayres, a men’s chorus from the Milan area will be in concert at the church on Saturday, Sept. 28th at 7 p.m.

A fall rummage sale will be held at Faith Lutheran in Morris on Wednesday Sept. 25 from 4-7 p.m.

The Red Hatters will travel to Graceville on Oct. 7 at 11 a.m. for lunch. Let Janet Hornemen know if you are attending or need a ride.

Evelyn Underwood recently celebrated her 91st birthday.

Quinn David Gau was born on July 2 to Darren and Alyssa Gau; grandparents are Alan and Mary Uphoff, grandparents are Gary and Karen, greatgrandmother is Evelyn Underwood. He was baptized at Faith Lutheran on Sept. 15.

State 4-H results for general exhibits include: purple ribbons for Micah and Rebecca Aanerud; blue for Brittany and Brady Cardwell, Lindsay Flogstad, and Jacob Speer; in livestock: Jonna Moser reserve championship; Kellen Erdahl, and Shauna

Kill earned blue ribbons.

Barb Simpson won the pie baking contest at Niemackl Lake Park day.

Brooke Gillespie was named freshman attendant at the Chokio-Alberta High School homecoming celebration.

Congratulations to Jeff and Marylyn Stallman on their silver wedding anniversary and to Parker and Renee Kloos on 30 years of marriage.

Lou Eystad's cousin Joe Mau from Isanti, and friend Carol, visited with her and Jim on Saturday of the Threshing Bee.

Mark Koepke and I helped with some of the landscaping at Good Shepherd L u t h e r a n Church on Sept. 17. On the following day, we enjoyed some music by Kaylene Mecklenburg at the West Wing Village.

Steve Fults and I attended the Hackfer auction near Donnelly on Sept. 14. The two rarest cars sold for $10,000 and $15,000.

John Kopacek and I spent some time in Albany over the weekend attending the Stearns County Pioneer Club’s Threshermen’s show.

Mark and Pearl A . Anderson had lunch together on Monday, Sept. 16, then attended the open house retirement party for Paul Erstad, Jr. at the United Farmers and Merchants State Bank and the Hackfer rummage sale near Donnelly.

United Farmers and Merchants State Bank isnow Dacotah bank Mark Koepke and I enjoyed lunch together at Willie’s brat stand on Sept. 18. Later we stopped to visit Chuck Spohr in Morris. In the evening Paul and Betty Sperr and I attended the visitation for Al Mauch.
