Lacie Winter Nohl arrived on Jan. 25 to claim the title of the 2011 Hancock New Year's Baby. Lacie was welcomed by her parents Doug and Amber Nohl and siblings, Lewis 6, Archie 5, Allison, 3 and Crystal, 7. As the New Year's Baby, Lacie and her family received several prizes from area businesses.

Lacie Winter Nohl will have more in common with her sister Allison than just their parents and siblings. They will both be able to say they were once Hancock's New Year's babies.

Lacie arrived on Jan. 25 to claim the title of the 2011 Hancock New Year's baby. Allison was the 2008 New Year's baby with a Jan. 6 birthday. Lacie and Allison are the children of Doug and Amber Nohl who live about five miles southwest of Hancock near Highway 59. They live on the family farm in the home Doug grew up in, moving there shortly after Doug's parents, Larry and Bonnie Nohl, moved to Morris.

Other siblings of Lacie and Allison are Crystal, 7, Lewis, 6 and Archi, 5. Along with the sibling there is a large extended family to welcome the new baby. Grandparents are Bonnie and the late, Larry Nohl, and Todd and Beth Stuber from Tremont, Ill. Great grandparents are Dorothy Stuber of Tremont, and Robert and Esther Emich of Akron, Ohio. Several aunts, uncles and cousins also welcome the new baby.

Gifts for the baby were donated by Otter Tail Power Co., Agralite Electric and Grossman's Plumbing and Heating. A gift certificate to the gift shop was provided by Stevens Community Medical Center. Hancock Concrete gave $10 in Hancock Bucks and Trico also gave $10 in Hancock Bucks. Willie's Super Valu gave a $20 gift certificate and Thrifty Benson Drug and City Center Drug each donated a $20 gift card.

The Hancock Record gave a one year subscription and KJH Construction gave $5 in Hancock Bucks. Hancock Co-op donated $15 towards a gas purchase at their station. A bottle of champagne will go to the proud parents from Inn Like Flinn's and a year's worth of voice mail will come from Federated Telephone Co.

Community Development Bank gave the baby a $50 Savings Bond and Hancock Dental Clinic donated $5 in Hancock Bucks. Two gallons of milk was donated by By-Lo Gas and Grocery and Buddies Bar and Grill gave the family a $15 gift cerfificate. Meadowland Market donated a $10 gift certificate.

Welcome, Lacie Winter. We hope you enjoy your reign as the 2011 Hancock New Year's Baby.
