Two-Niners fall to A/B-E

Ashby/Brandon-Evansville scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning for a come-from-behind 10-7 win over the Morris Two-Niners in Legion baseball Thursday, June 12 in Evansville.

Morris jumped out to 6-1 lead with two runs in the first and four more in the third. Corey Storck drove in two runs with singles in both innings. Riley Biesterfeld drove in two runs and Bryce Jergenson had three hits for the 2-9ers. Noah Grove also had two hits.

James Huisman, Blake Ohren, Brandon Christianson and Gage Olson had two hits each as eight starters had at least one hit for Ashby/Brandon-Evansville.

Morgan Wing got the win in relief and Tom Bosek pitched a perfect seventh for the save.

Morris Legion got rained out both Monday, June 16 against Hancock and Thursday, June 19 against Glenwood, but finally got back in the action on Friday night when they hosted Eden Valley-Watkins at Chizek Field in Morris.

Morris plays tonight against Eden Valley-Watkins at 7:30 p.m., weather permitting. Then the next game for the Two-Niners is in Wheaton on Monday, June 23 and in Osakis on Thursday, June 26. Both games will begin at 6:30 p.m. The Two-Niners are on the road until July 3 when they host Wheaton at 6:30 p.m.
