Tigers 3-1 in post season play
The Morris Area / Chokio-Alberta Tiger softball team advanced deeper into Section 3AA playoffs after beating Fairmont and Marshall on Saturday, May 24 in Marshall. The Tigers are now 3-1 in post season play and are two wins away from the section final game.
Morris/C-A 6, Fairmont 4
South’s No. 5 Fairmont struck first right out of the gate, but the 1-0 lead didn’t last long as Lauren Reimers knocked a three-run homerun in the bottom half of the inning to take the lead 3-1 on Saturday morning.
The Tigers walked across three runs in the bottom of the third to extend their lead to 6-1. Fairmont scored two runs in the fourth and added another in the sixth, but got no closer as the Tigers finished off the Cardinals 6-4.
Reimers and Becca Holland were both 2-for-4 at the plate. Holland had two doubles and a RBI in the 6-4 win over Fairmont.

Morris/C-A 2, Marshall 1
The Tigers edged a 2-1 victory over the Marshall Tigers in game two on Saturday, advancing Morris into yet another elimination game. The Tigers now play No. 3-seed from the South Jackson County Central on today (Tuesday, May 27) at 5 p.m. in Marshall. The winner of that matchup plays again against the South’s No. 1-seed Pipestone at 6:30 p.m.
